Left of Black host Mark Anthony Neal joined in the studio by Dr. Deondra Rose an assistant professor in the Sanford School of Public Policy with a secondary appointment in the Department of Political Science.

Her research focuses on the feedback effects of landmark social policies on the American political landscape. She is the author of Citizens by Degree: Higher Education Policy and the Changing Gender Dynamics of American Citizenship (Oxford University Press, 2018), which Theda Skocpol said, “With empirical rigor and historical imagination, Deondra Rose’s landmark book explains how this happened–and highlights the centrality of federal government policies in opening opportunities vital to female advancement in both the economy and civic life.“
