Left of Black host Mark Anthony Neal is joined in the studio by historian and political activist, Barbara Ransby,
Author of Making All Black Lives Matter: Reimagining Freedom in the Twenty-First Century (University of California Press, 2018), which Professor Angela Davis says, “offers us an analysis of the Movement for Black Lives, and its historical continuities and rupture, that reflects both her considerable skills as a historian and her rich experience as an activist. This book passionately urges us to adopt the radical and feminist versions of democracy that will move us forward.” Ransby is a distinguished professor of African American Studies, Women and Gender Studies, and History at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she also is the director of the Social Justice Initiative.
