A graduate of Harvard and a veteran of Jazz at Lincoln Center, Hoyes latest recording On a Turquoise Cloud – independently released – is a collection of rare Ellington compositions, written for women singers such as Adelaide Hall, Kay Davis, and Alice Babs.
