Many will remember growing up with the classic 1997 Black independent romantic comedy, "Love Jones," which starred Larenz Tate and Nia Long among a cast of prolific Black Hollywood talent.
But when Dr. Kris Marsh, Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Maryland, refers to the Love Jones cohort, she means to shed light on the intentional choice to stay single by many in today's Black middle class. Dr. Marsh joins host Prof. Mark Anthony Neal to discuss her new book, "The Love Jones Cohort: Single and Living Alone in the Black Middle Class," published by Cambridge University Press.
